About Scholarship
The Sylvia Jane Heck Scholarship will provide scholarship grants and other financial aid to assist deserving working women in pursuing a degree and/or non-degree education in Bexar County, Texas. Scholarship monies must be used at an accredited Texas college, university or non-degree educational program offered within Bexar County, Texas. If seeking a degree, applicants must have completed at least two semesters of studies prior to applying for this scholarship. If seeking non-degree education, applicants must be registered for the non-degree educational program and have already paid the fees associated therewith. If seeking a degree, applicants must have a 3.0 or better GPA; submit certified transcripts of all college work. Two letters of reference must accompany the application. If the application is approved, the name and address of the educational institution and student ID for the scholarship check must also be provided. If seeking non-degree education, applicants must provide proof of payment of the fees associated with the program, the total cost and length of the program, and two letters of reference. If the application is approved, proof of payment for the non-degree course is required before the scholarship will be paid. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
